Saturday's Sterling Score!

As I rolled up to the second sale of the day I noticed some of my competition was already there, So I walked up and seen a lady I know putting a little box of jewelry in her pile of stuff, Crap! as I looked around I seen right in front of me a plastic container that said "silver" $10.00 dollars,so I looked and the first piece I brought out said Sterling and then the second one also, it appeared to be a set and the container felt heavy, Right on! so I immediately paid! I hit a couple more sales finding a couple sterling necklaces and a bracelet for $2.00 once I got home I layed everything out and I am stoked, this is my biggest silver score yet, almost all the pieces say sterling with a makers mark of a capitol D that I believe stands for Dulin & Martin, 6 of the knives are in a cloth carrier that has a label that says Dulin & Martin,Washington, D.C. A couple of the spoons say Gorham, I have not researched them yet. Thanks for looking!...........Scott

I cant wait for some sales to start here!

Nice. I missed out on a 73 pc. set of Towle sterling flatware yesterday because I wasn't up to par on what patterns sell for the most by that maker. By the time I did a quick search, it was sold. King Richard was the pattern. It went for $1800.

Great score!!!! I got silver today too and some gold. Will post tomorrow. I'm happy yard sale season has begun. Tired of thrift stores

Quite the haul. Congrats!

Wow very good job with the silver.

Incredible score ! Chalk one up for the good guys!

Thanks guys for all the kind replies! I always check the flatware, almost always it is plated, with sometimes picking up a piece or two of Sterling, This time I got lucky! Thanks for looking & Good Luck!..........Scott.

Thanks for the kind reply! Hopefully next time you make that score! I really don't know the value or what the pattern is on this, I did a search on the names and came up with only a store name that sold fine china, ceramics and silver sets, from the teens to the thirties.I am not even sure if Dulin & Martin are even the makers, I will post a better picture of one of the pieces so everyone can see the pattern and hopefully the makers mark. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for looking!..........Scott
