Well I've done better on sales, but I can't complain about this weekend. NOAA had forcast rain, so there weren't very many sales. Here are some of the items I did find though.
Folk Art Tea Pitcher Hand Blown with a lovely cactus Applique
A pair of Austrian Berloque Minature Pistols as a pair of cufflinks, including four gelatine capsules of 2mm pinfire percussion caps.
A 16" carved Ivory necklace.
A nice "Bradford Cutlery Razor Hone No. 7". Very fine grained, a polish hone.

All in all, not a bad haul.

I haven't found any information on the Bradford Cutlery Co. except other people asking about it. Anyone out there know anything about it, especially about hones they made. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Those little berloque pistols are highly collectible as well as the gel caps. That's a great find! :headbang:

Bradford Cuttlery started in Bradford, Pennsylvania in the late1800's I think. They are made today in Titusville, Pennsylvania by Great Eastern Cutlery. Still carry the Bradford name and Made in the USA.

Chisos,

I appreciate the information. I've been doing searches and mostly coming up with others asking the same questions I am, or quite a bit about some brand name controversy.

Diggumup, I've been doing a lot of research on those little pistols also. Seem to have been a very good buy. I picked them up mostly from the "What in the hell is that?" type motivation. The people I bought them from didn't have any idea, all they knew were that were with their granddads stuff. I think I paid a dollar for them. I tried out a couple of the caps and it appears most are duds. However the one that worked sounded like a 32 cal firing. Suprisingly loud.

I found one of these little pistols this past Saturday. Mine is not the cuff link type or the key chain type. Did you sell yours yet? A pair like your cuff links sold on ebay recently for $135 without any ammo.

Thought I'd pass this on. I sold the Berloques to a dealer I was refered to, for $160 including the percussion caps. Shipped them today. I paid $.75 for them.

Nice! I got a dollar wrapped up in mine.

I bought my first one of those little pistols when I was 16 --- paid $135.00 for it and it came in a little oak box with the rounds. It took me about 2 days to figure out that I could put small projectiles in it and it was confiscated by my parents. I would absolutely love to come across one at a garage sale.

Great finds!

The reason they were finally taken off the market, is they discovered the ends could be cut off easily and a number 9(?) shot could be fired out of them at a very respectable velocity.

I remember being able to penetrate a soda can with it. The projectile knocked a little hole in the can. We used little pieces of lead from a snap on fishing sinker but they weren't effective so we resorted to cutting the little pin off the caps forcing the cap in. The one I had didn't need to have the end removed - the barrel was opened.

NJ's firearms laws have grown so oppressive that a permit is probably required now even for that little guy.
