I went out around town over the weekend. Hit several places... schools, parks, old lots etc.

After Friday night's two silver quarters... the rest of the weekend was sort of a let down, but I know that you have to take what you get and be happy with it... blah, blah, blah... (no silver = frowny face).

Saturday: Clad, bracelet, ring, scout neckerchief slide (which lost an arguement with a lawnmower), wheaties, bullet, key and a SC Aquarium souvenir smashed penny.

Sunday: Clad, Midgetoy car, putter head, '57 dog license and Lockwood Mfg logo tag. The Lockwood tag is either copper or brass... it is thick and heavy and made the Deus go crazy... like a half dollar! I tried to figure out what it came from, but got bored and gave up. Any idea?

*** I eliminated all of the bottlecaps, pull tabs and little assorted pieces of metalic junk. Apparently some newer detectorist think that only good stuff comes out of the ground. I only SHOW the good stuff... there is usually (read: always) more trash than treasure.

Thanks for looking.

hey nice finds, what? we dig trash? well if you mean the stuff I usually put in the trash can afterwards, the a lot bigger piles of foil, tabs, rusty metal, cans, etc. I am always quick to show people what exactly I have dug up and occasionally get the answer "I would get one of those detectors that tells you exactly what it is before you dig". oh well, still great finds Tom. GL & HH

Nice digs and thanks for those pics

Nice stuff, tokens and dog tags are cool too!

Thats a good hunt...silver or no....my trash pile is ALWAYS bigger than my keeper pile....well most times.

Not too shabby! Every time I dig a clad ring I think: it could have been a good one!

I like the dog tag. I've never found one but would hope to at some point. After a 2 silver quarter night there shouldn't be any whining about your weekend finds. If you dug silver every time out you would quickly lose the excitement factor that makes the hobby so fun.

I find dog tags at the park usually. I can't believe that you don't have any, I have at least (6) of them. The new ones are aluminum, this one is copper or brass.

I am not complaining about not finding any silver coins... I am still smiling from the quarters last Friday night. I wanted everyone to see that I dig a bunch of junk, and not just good coins.

Hope to see you soon. GL&HH.

As I've explained to you the oldest park up where I live opened in 1983 so I don't visit the parks all too often. I would expect to come across one someday at a home site.

I hate to think that the dog is running around without his tag! :laughing7:
