17 silver dimes, an IH, 56 Wheats, A couple Buffalos with a war nickel (18 silver if you count that).
Kind of interesting that some quarters didnt come out, but, I guess they were cheap back then.
I also included a pic of the site because I get asked that alot...This is what I look for!

Very nice job on all of that silver! Wheaties look very awesome too! :)
After looking at alot of posts I think that we are fortunate here in Utah, at least as far as ground mineralization goes.
Most of the stuff that I find comes out of the ground in good shape. (Being a semi arid climate probably helps too).
I just wish that I lived in the east to get a crack at that really old stuff!

You found more silver dimes than i have in five years of hunting . Were is this place? Barbers and buffalos you got a good spot there so clean it out before they build on the site. Congratulations.

Killer hunt!! What used to / is going to be on that lot?

I dont know what they are building there but this is in the historical part of any downtown (main and center).
It has always been grass as far as I know, but 100 years ago? who knows. (I should check the Sanborn Maps).
It was alot of fun to get on a site like this (with permission of course).

But you still get the jerks driving by and pointing out the fact that there are "no trespassing" signs on the fence and that you shouldnt be there.

Thanks Roger.

I actually feel bad that you havent found that many silver in five years.
All I do is knock on doors and try to get permission in a site such as this.
If one person on a construction site tells you no, wait until they leave (such as a Saturday and ask again!).
Thats what I had to do here.
The big cheese doesnt work weekends!

that is a nice stash of cash! Get back there a look for more

Nice find, Great pictures. Thanks for posting your finds. By the way, I don't think who ever
hid that money was cheap. Back then, a dime was like $5, looks like someone worked pretty hard for that money. Love those Barber coins and the Mercury's are sweet also.

You are right Ringfinder, "cheap" was a bad choice of words.
It is too bad that our dimes nowadays dont have the same buying power (not to mention silver).
I dont imagine a 100 year old dime 100 years from now will be worth much of anything.

Very nice finds plumloko! I love seeing stuff like that come out of Utah. My buddy just hit a place in Bountiful yesterday that was under construction. His uncle found 2 silver dimes and he found a silver quarter and a walking liberty. Just wondering if maybe it was the same spot. If so I think they poured on it today. Anyway amazing dime haul. GL out there.

Wow, what a haul! Those silver dimes sure cleaned up well . . . . what method do you use on the silver? If you look at Captain SE's silver dime to quarter ratio, and as you probably already know, the dimes are like 20:1 over the quarters, the quarters are heavier and were a lot more valuable back in the day. I am not surprised :) Again, what an amazing day, congratulations!

I just use baking soda and tap water to clean silver, just make a paste out of it.
Of course i wouldnt do that to a key date.
