We are engage in treasure hunting in the Philippines and we are soon going to employ an american who calims they could use satellite to scan the ground to under 30 meters depth at a 1 kilometer radius and that they would be able to see what was under the ground by the means of their technology. We are going to pay 1 million pesos for the service and would even sign a contract that whatever they find is that they have an automatic share of 20% of the find. Hope this forum can help. Is there such a technology?

What's the exchange rate on a P.I. Peso now adays? 1 million equals about $12.95 american. LOL. They have satelites that can do almost anything you can imagine now. But here's the important part...You need ACCESS to them! Unless you're working for the Gov't. you're not going to have that kind of power. Sorry.

Towcritter: 1 US dollar is equal to 55 Philippine Peso. I guess you see what difference our money's worth is, a million pesos to me maybe just a few bucks to you. The American who wants to work with us, previously did worked for our government. They said that what are we going to pay is onlys the film that could be used on their equipment that we are going to use. what makes me doubtful about the operation is that, we are not allowed to see any of the pictures that the satelllite have spotted, they will just tell us where the treasure and how deep it is and whatever we recover is that they have share of 20 percent. what i really need to know is ( if this forum can help) if theres any equipment-- satellite equipment-- such as this, the one i asked above.

$18,000 isn't cheap... not by my standards...

As far as I know... there isn't any real-time satellite able to take a photo of GPS co-ords when ever you want it to... (ie; all the info available was taken a while back... so they have access to a database or something)

and if its satellite then why the need for film?

and for $18K you could probably buy all the digital images you need from the landsat7 image collection...
Landsat7 mapped the entire world, i believe... Last I checked it was just a couple grand for some data.

Maybe that will help...

BTW, beware of helpful americans!
:P

Thank you, maybe that could help.... salamat! :)
