Normally this is a small tidal creek, however the storm surge and full moon high tide pushed enough water into the wetlands to create raging bay-like conditions, complete with whitecaps and a spray on the surface that cut viz way down at times. It easily exceeded the 100 year flood plain line... We lucked out when Sandy accelerated and came ashore ahead of the next high tide that we feared would finally reach our home.

Lots of water, wind, and waves reshaping the shorelines everywhere....

Wow, glad you beat the tide. That had to be nerve-racking watching it rise. Stay dry and safe.
