Sandwagon's first Roadtrip !!!!!
YEAH BABY !!!!!!!!
Ok first to all the 4x4 vets.... I know this is " mild ". But to me, to able to go deep into the hills was really COOOLLLLL!!!!!! Oh yeah.. this really wasn't that " deep ". BUT DON"T BUST MY ROOKIE BUBBLE!!!!! I went out and got a book called California Trails by Massey, Wilson and Titus.
This book is a must for rookie's, it not only has a description and history of each trail, it also has gps and mileage points.
Now on to the trail, I decided to go to a place called Dos Cabesas ( 2 heads ) in the Anza Borrego State Park. It was the 1st RR to connect the Colorado River to San Diego. It took nearly 12 years to complete at a cost of $19 million. San Diego population was about 35,000 and by the time the RR was done it had doubled. Not a lot still there but, for me and my rookie trip I had a BLAST!!!!
Rock formations on the way
Old water tank.
Old Foundations.
Great ole bridge.
Tracks from the opposite view.
The temp was around 110, but it wasn't until I was on my way back before I realized how hot it was. Just didn't feel that hot..Just wanted to share some fun times with my treasure family...
Enjoy
