I know the obvious differences. But I may possibly be looking to add a beach specific detector to the mix and these two seemed to have a great following. The LIfetime warranty seems to good to be true in the fact if something happens in the water I am sure or I feel like they may try and show negligence on the user. But I don't intend to dive with it.......just beach comb and get in the surf and would undoubtedly get the darn thing drenched!

So I am curious as to how these two systems compare......

So if you have used both and can shed insight on to which one if you could pick just one and why? Thank you.

Sand shark - PULSE INDUCTION - Saltwater - NO Discrimination

Tiger shark - VLF - Freshwater - Discriminates

I have both. If you are going to dive with it in the ocean, get a SAND SHARK.

BTW, thanks for the reply Terry. So the Tiger is not good in saltwater????

No, the Tiger is NOT good for saltwater. I know it has a saltwater setting, but it just dumbs the machine down (lowers its Sensitivity).

Thanks Terry. You have narrowed it down considerably for me. :laughing7:
