Hello all! Found a token a while back. I thought that someone might be able to tell me something about it. It says
" good for one drink at Dannanbarg Saloon". It's a little smaller than a half dollar. On the back it has the initials G.D. I tried to find something online about it but came up empty.I thought maybe it came from another state. There are alot of civil war vets buried around north Texas so it may have been brought back from there. I say that because my brother found the civil war veterans badge. It has a bust of Robert E. Lee in the middle with confederate flags on each side. Underneath that it says DELAGATE.I think it is only the top section of a larger badge. So I'm almost positive that someone that lived there fought in the civil war. If anyone can help that would be great. Thanks ,Rayman

Please let us know where in the country that you may have found it - Texas or elsewhere? Thanks

Your Dannenburg token is listed in the Texas supplement as being from Aurora, Texas. G. Dannanburg had a saloon there circa 1882-4. Aurora was located in Wise County, but is now a ghost town according to the supplement.

Your medal is probably a Son's of Confederate Veteran's OR Confederate soldier reunion badge, without seeing a photograph of it. Quite collectable. Without a picture, can't say much more.

Thanks for the info guys. That's some interesting history. I think I found out what the badge is from. I found one online that looks like it. It was from a reunoin of General Nathan B. Forrest's men. The only difference is mine says delegate the one online says member. That's cool about the token. I only live about 15 miles from that ghost town. Guess they never got to go back and spend it. Thanks again guys. Rayman
