that's the weather I need

Been there, done that and I swore never again. Is that all it was 125*? Every time it's hot here I think of there. It suddenly is cooler. You realize that walking 10 yards where you are could cut your life expectancy in half? Love the pic though. I still remember trying to find UNOCCUPIED shade around those cacti:notworthy:

Well, if you want Hotter, go 100 miles south to Yuma.... Yuma gets hotter than this area. That's why I'am out here now. When 90 rolls around, I'm sitting in my air conditioned garage running my material I picked up in the winter time.

It's just opposite of you east coasters! In the winter you're all sitting in the cabin cleaning fines, researching etc. dreaming of good weather. Out in here in the west end we do it in the summer, cleaning fines, researching, and cleaning the cholla stickers out of our boots and everything else & dreaming of cooler weather.

We're ALL the same, just dreaming of the next big one!

Take a Fine Tooth Comb to Get the Cholla Out

most people that go with me seem to get covered in it when I tell them to stay away from it

go figure

'I've been thinking of selling my claim'

I will let you know when I do, if interested... pm me

Heh heh heh, And you thought "jumping cactus" was just a funny name..............

Whata cool picture... havent seen that before.
I had only passed through Arizona when I was a child... and too young to remeber it...

I get plenty of cactus and stickers here where I live.
And, that jumping cactus sucks! LOL

Hey, Didn't think of this till this morning. A friend showed me a trick to get fiber glass off you, and it works pretty good for the little tiny stickers too! Get in the shower turn the water as hot as you can stand to open the pores. Drag a bar of soap along your body, rinse it off. Cheap soap seems to work best. Excellent for working with insulation or when you get the tiny almost microscopic stickers like prickly pear. Hope that gives a little relief to the rest of the boondockers out there!!

Waaayy back. My dad worked for a fiberglass company, making insulation. This was in the 1960s I believe. They gave the employees rolls of masking tape to use to get the glass out of their skin.

I remember Duct tape being suggested to remove Be stingers.

No idea if it worked, I always let nature remove them .
If they were there of course. I don't know .
stingers would be tiny

I see it's getting really hot down there according to your weatherman in Phoenix. Thanks for the pic's. I had a territory in the 1990's that took me all the way to Winterhaven Calif. I sure do miss going down through the desert.
