how user friendly is the safari?

Wouldn't be too bad because it would be the same as the explorer which is ok, unless you want to make it difficult.

The Safari is very user friendly. It was my first detector. Start with the factory presets and adjust to your preferences as you get more familiar with the machine.

the 705 is cheaper and easier, and if it comes with the 10.5 "dd coil as standard......(in the eu it does) pretty much the same performance.
the guys at minelab think its one of there best machines.

And so do my Law enforcement client's....It's their choice machine around here.

The safari is the easiest ...ive used. Smart tech.....It has to be for me to get it right. Ive only had mine a very short time and have several gold rings for my efforts. (and NE WI.... aint no daytona beach) lol

Safari is very dangerous! be careful !!!! dont stay alone with it !!!!

Press power and swing.
No RF interference, no ground balance issues, just power on and go.
It doesn't get much easier than that but it does take a while to understand their tones. You cannot lower it down to 3 or 4 tones like you can on the xterra's. Not sure why they left that out.

The xterra 70 and 705 are great, they light and can do nugget hunting as well.

Safari's are not good at small gold, and especially white gold.

The safari is so user friendly, a caveman can use it. It is a very easy machine to use. Get the book "Mastering the minelab quattro" by Andy Sabisch. The safari has auto ground balance and auto sensitivity which makes it easy to use. It is good at picking up treasure in trashy areas. A good beach detector too. Give 4-H a pm and he will take care of you.
