I had a chance to go to a couple of thrift stores a couple of weeks ago while I was in the city for business. The last time I went to this particular Salvation Army store I picked up some new Towle sterling candle holders for $8, but I scrapped them instead of putting them up on eBay. On this visit I picked up this neat cheese slicer in the bulk kitchen utensil bin. The other silverplated utensils were in a locked display case. This piece had some markings on the back so I took a chance for $2.

It weighs 78g and most of it is in the handle. The three towers mark is a Danish mark signifying a minimum 826/1000 silver.

And they sell well on eBay but I think I'm going to keep this one for a while!

The eBay listing says Norwegian but it's actually Danish.

Thanks for looking and good luck!
