Went coin shooting today with my new Whites Sport, ended up with anything but.

Pocket knife with the initials "GS", my first thought was Girl Scouts, but I doubt they ever issued knives to girls. Rusted tub shaped thing I thought was interesting, doesn't appear to have been sheared off. Little wheel with tabs no idea, the oval thing with slots at first I thought ornamental but it probably utility ... Was thinking drain cover but those typically are not oval shaped.

Interesting place, very large yard where an old house once stood, I remember as a kid seeing the old lady tending to her very elaborate garden. House was torn down years ago, nature took over the yard and it was pretty, rose bushes and other plants went feral and there was apple and pear trees, all kinds of birds, like a mini eco system. Unfortunately they cut down the trees and bushes, probably in prep to develop the lot into something.
Last year I found a cache of old license plates with readable dates back to the 1920's and stumbled upon an old garbage pit, was pulling out dozens of bottles and tin cans. Haven't found much in the way of coins yet, but this lot is very large and will take many hours to properly detect.

I think your first thought of Girl Scouts knife was right. That looks like the Girl Scout emblem.

the slotted thing is a spoon bowl. the roundish thing looks like a bowl from a ladle.

Yep, girl scouts all right, google search turns up tons of results. My girl used to be in the girl scouts, don't recall her being issued any blades, just cookies.

The rounded thing on the left looks like a steel toe from a boot. The girl scout knife is outstanding!! Very rare. Tony

Steel toe, good thinking, I would bet that is exactly what it is. And here I am, a union heavy construction worker for almost 2 decades and never crossed my mind.

Other scale is missing on the knife, and can't see any lettering on the blade due to rust.

If the "wheel" has or had any threads on the inside, it might be a car antenna or switch bezel.

No threads, I was thinking a drawer/window roller type thing.
Doesn't appear to be old or interesting, probably toss it and most everything else in the recycle bin. Will be looking for more relics today if not rained out, will post back if I find anything of interest. My main goal here really is learning my new Whites Sport in a pretty easy environment, so far its doing pretty good but have yet to find any coins at depth or more than 3 inches. Of course, maybe they just aren't there, we shall see.

I think your wheel thing was like a roller for a window or sliding door, but it had a plastic center.

Not much today, found what I though was a spoon end or shoe horn that says Green Spot ,,, And this spiked chunk of metal, maybe part of a wheel that was meant to get traction in the ground. Whatever it is, I reburied it.

Please remove all the trash you find, it is part of your responsibility as a detector user, reburying junk is not cool. The Girl Scout knife was made by Utica/Kutmaster 1950s-1960s. No scouts, girl or boy were "issued" any knives, or uniforms for that matter, the individual had and still has to purchase all official scout items.

Trefoil is the name of that little logo on the knife... just like the GS cookie. I know this because I found (what I thought) was a girls 10K class ring, I was jumping around, all excited ... until I looked closely and saw the trefoil! Bummed and extra bummed...
dang girl scouts....

This place will be a parking lot or host a new building soon enough, so I'm not particularly worried about detecting protocol here.
I do backfill holes from force of habit, but something as trivial as hauling every scrap of metal I find away, I don't feel obliged to do that here and will accept no lectures.
