Rusty Looking Creek Question

I was out on the land I purchased the other day and this seasonal creek that had perfectly clear water a month ago was all rusty looking now...

Every rock in the creek looked rusty...

Anyone know how that happens?

I have heard of that certain minerals can do something like that though not sure if they can do it so quick?
Is a factory dumping their waste in the creek?

How about red alge?

it also could be iron oxide. ive seen large amounts of it in one creek. ive also seen a portion of a creek that had this oxide at the bank and if you did anything to it there would be a red stream going down the river.

No factories around.

could be stagnant water.

Water is flowing pretty good there.

Take some samples to a testing laboratory...an agricultural soil testing lab might be the key...several in your area.

Find out what the mineral content is and maybe follow it to its source...

Has someone been working the place? (been prospecting there) they can throw up a lot of clay and such stuff...

If you were Here in PA I would
know it's Coal Mine Runoff


Alot of Iron in it.

Believe it or not some Locals Bottle & Drink it to
Clean out their Systems.
But it is Very Dangerous.
