Well I couldn't wait any longer to go out hunting about my yard despite the remaining snow so I went out today anyway. After finding 11 cents I was about to just give up when I caught a weak signal about 4 feet from my garden's edge. I thought perhaps I had just bumped the detector and set it off as it's a bit touchy about that, but after retuning and going back over the area there was definitely something there. After digging about 5 inches down I found this and I have no clue as to what it is.
It has no specific markings of any kind, there is a single indentation, but it's all solid, no place to hook anything as I first thought. It's about 6 inches in diameter and about an inch and a half in height. It was about 5 inches down into the ground right on the edge of a hill that slopes to the garden.
Any Ideas?
