i don't think that i posted this before
Russy is helping set frames up from my unorganized collection
this is one frame he made recently
note the upper left stick is my most valued piece and has an image of a baby in blanket with a feather in it's hair and one hand sticking out to the right
i don't know what the engraved animal is supposed to be but i think it might be a badger
the chevron on the top is also on the back side with equal wear
the funny thing about this piece is that it was laying on the side of a deep tire rut from my pickup (after a heavy rain) pointing straight up into the sky and if i would have driven one inch to the right i would've ran over it and crushed it to pieces, i think i had an extremely lucky day
if you notice the wear on the small end of the stick it leads me to believe that it was held in the hand or was the handle for what this piece was used for
if anyone has questions about what any of these pieces were used for please ask and i will try to help answer and maybe other t-netters have some added info which i would be eager to hear

I see why thats your favorite piece superb frame of artifacts :notworthy:

Lars, very cool frame. I like the shell pendents best, especially the incised ones.

Thats a beautiful well placed frame. I really like it. Great artifacts too.
Tell Russy he made a great job of that..
Really liked seeing it too... Thankyou Steve.

Molly.

That is the best assemblage of bone and shell I have ever seen.Congrats for sure...
What is the piece on the right -top..(shaped like a beard comb)It puts me in mind of a old school tatoo tool.

Awesome looking tray of artifacts Steve. I really like the engraved pieces too, but my favorite of all your finds I have seen has to be the Bird Head on the top left. That is undoubtably the coolest artifact I have ever seen.

Thanks for the picture.

These bone artifacts are way out of my league. I sure like them though. Can you tell me what the bone items are that kinda look like belt buckles and some have holes in them.
Thanks Steve and thanks for showing.

thankyou for the kind remarks

i sure wish i knew what that stick with the baby on it was for and also what kind of animal is drawn above the baby

the birds have a groove on the underside of the bill like the other one i posted, we were wondered why it was there but i think it's just part of the piece
i am quite sure it was not to hold a blade, it doesn't look like it anyway
neo, it might be a tatoo tool, we thought it was a childs toy tomahawk
to the left on the other side of the round bead is another one with the handle broke off

Tn, some of those pieces are unfinished fish hook blanks
each piece hopefully yielded 2 hooks
here is a sketch to show how it worked
