My hunting buddy scores another cool coin...

He came to me looking for information, and I, as always, come to you TNET.

It looks Russian to me. Does anyone have a good picture of the original coin?

You're welcome; and I'll add some history (with a little help from Wiki). This coin is called a 'altyn', first minted from 1654 under Alexis I, under Peter I as silver coins from 1704 to 1718 then under Nicholas I as copper coins-- with a value of three kopeks from 1839. Production of three kopek coins was discontinued in 1991. A kopek is analogous to a Western penny.
