Oh oldbenny, I'm right behind you!
ok, well, not behind your car........ running a fast race of getting old with ya, quick, it seems!

We have discussed this before, NEVER lay your detector "behind" your car/truck,
Lay it BESIDE your vehicle, just for those, uuhhhh, uhhhhh,
forgetful moments. :laughing7:
Sorry that happened, live and learn.

Man that stinks, sorry for your loss. Are you going to buy replacement parts or new MD?

don't know have to wait till payday new coil will cost over £100 pounds that is about $150 and the stem about £30 =$45 it was only 5 months old too I have another detector but just getting used to the AT PRO

That's a heart breaker! I ran over my favorite salt water rod & reel. Was several yrs ago so I can't even use old age as excuse.

I feel your pain although I have not done that particular stunt YET. Give me some time though and I am sure I will come with an even better old person mistake than that.
Oh well just carry on.

its not that I am old I am only 52 but you know you forget things that's the first time in 25 years of detecting I have done that ... left my boots behind once long ago

Why you young whippersnapper. I can't even remember when I turned 52 years ago. That's how it starts and Be forewarned though it won't get any better.

As they say, three things happen when you get old.

First is your mind goes.

Second is your

Huh, …. Huh,…..huh,……

I forgot the other two.

Now what were we talking about.:icon_scratch:

52, dang, that was 24 years ago. I'll tell a story on myself. Went hunting, didn't fire a shot, got back to the trail head, took the rifle out of the saddle boot and lay it on a log. Two of us unsaddled and loaded the horses, got in the truck and drove off. Got home, couldn't figure out where my rifle was. Asked the other guy if he'd seen it, and he said he saw it on the log. Got an early start the next day, drove back 70 or 80 miles and the gun was still there. Moral of the story, keep your eyes open at trail heads, I've found fishing gear, binoculars, coats and sweaters, and a rifle. Of course the gun was mine, but I lucked out and found it still there.

we ran my cousins over....he got mad and threw it in the dump......I called Whites and told em,and they said they would replace the box,and board for about $200....then I told them what he did......Whites made some points with me and my cousin wont lean the detector on the tire no more

So sorry not so old Benny. You can try sending it to Garrett and see if they help you out on the repairs. There was a guy who posted here whose kids left his in the driveway, where it was run over. He sent his in and got it fixed by them.

As to setting down your detector, unless I am on a dig it doesn't come off my arm until I'm setting it down in the trunk. Otherwise couldn't trust that I wouldn't run over it too or drive off without it.

LAWL'd @ Kuger!....... and this is where it starts, with the EYES! LOL! And the displaced sense of humor, LOL!
I so read.......... "we ran my cousin over....... he got made" I don't know why I found that funny, then I re-read. LOL! Guess it was the flavor of the thread, LOL!

One fella down here in S Fl., he was kinda a live wire and all hyper like, finished his hunt, washed off, washed the booties, wetsuit, went to the car and left his Excal at the showers. Needless to say, it WAS NOT there, when he got back there.
That was lucky, BosnMate!

image-2873986818.jpg image-2426353363.jpg Sorry to hear maybe you can turn it into a swifter sweeper like I have blasphemously done to mine, mine still works it just gets used more often for floor;) I should add it's not a Garret Pro I'd treat that one better:)

I feel your Pain.
I did the same thing about 10 years ago to my Sovereign,
only thing, I got a mile down the road before I decided to look in the Back & see if I put it in :(
had to quickly drive back to pick up the pieces :sadsmiley:

Any chance Auto Insurance would cover the damage?

Maybe if you said you did it at home your home owners might cover it but either way auto or home you have to pay a deductible prob 500$ if your like most and lol getting old does suck
