What are the patent dates on the pot...can't quite make them out.
top pat date of 1868
lower one is 1888
has a 11 under all that.
it's very tarnished i'm assuming it's silver plated.
i was hopin it was coin silver.did i get ripped paying $20 for this?

Agreed. Given its age and uniqueness, I'd say you did pretty well no matter what it's made of.

Looks like you got some really good bargins :icon_thumright:

The 2nd date does look like 1888, but may be 1868 as well. Would seem a little odd to have a 1877 inscription dated on an 1888 piece :icon_scratch: unless the date is DOB for Sarah.

Awesome Finds!!! I was looking at it and it has that crazy font style..but i was bored and googled that name date combo..and i think it is "Sarah J O'Callaghan".. which is also Sarah Callahan/Callaghan.. I have looked thru a bunch Genolagy websites that took me to Ontario around that time..i know way to much about this name already..lol...Its a nice one thou

Yes it is a Ford spark coil. Had a few of those at the ranch where I grew up, got to play with them. They worked, although not so great, and the produced a good shock of high voltage. We had a number of model t's and a's at the ranch, some were old and not used anymore. So they were used for parts. I used to make the spark jump between two bolts, was a lot of fun. Got shocked also a few times, but that was fun too....
