too short for a garage and too decorative for a seal

Very odd... it isn't too uncommon though for buildings like that to be dug into the sides of hills. I've seen them.

the curved Stones Suggest a Lower Tunnel, up top is the railroad, so if not simply decorative. probably very old

sort of reminds me of a billboard that would be placed in front of a church too
but again the decorative stones :dontknow:

I had an Aunt & Uncle who lived at 822 in the 60's But nothing there looks familiar.

would take some Research if there was a Brewery in the area may have been Cooling Tunnel Too

It could have been for shoveling coal into the basement.

Location Facing the Opposite Direction of Houses in an Embankment a railroad sits on top.
Would only work if the House was there before the railroad and Embankment

railroad dates to before 1875

would have been here facing north towards the track

1875 Nothing on the Eastern Half of Town

Jeff-- I think that is a water tunnel under the RR bed. The water flows under the homes for two blocks and goes into the Mahanoy creek. the creek starts above mahanoy city and runs through the city.

ya know I'll bet your right on that :icon_thumright: Tremont has streams that flow through tunnels to the creek.
I'd imagine allot of villages do

thanks :coffee2:
