RPin' it on the Button Backroads

Insane to be out in Feb here, but I'll take it! Ironhorse and I did our first hunt down the old button backroads today and I was successful for the count of two in the military department... and unsuccessful for the count of two in the condition department. :) But I'll never shun a Rev War button! :headbang: We tried a few different areas and the last site was a frosty corn field, and I probably looked like an ape breaking open coconuts banging the clumps of dirt on my shovel... but you gotta do what you gotta do, and me got me some ok coconut juice. :laughing7: (and a couple of large coffee right now) :tongue3: Anyway, pretty good start, but any start in Feb. would be a good one anyway!

The coins are a George III and Charles II Irish Halfpenny. A first for me but sadly just enough to ID and not much more.

Dang look out! Iron Patch is out in February?!?!

I'm glad the good weather has gotten you bears out of your caves. Great finds and I have not see that Charles 2nd copper before. Great buttons and cuff links. Congrats

Steve

Look at them ugly ole coins lol
Have to get some pretty ones next time!
Not bad for cracked open coconuts, the horse head sportsmans button is cool!
Some prettier buttons next time wouldn't hurt your feelings too much either

I told you that RSLA was a looker!

Nice finds, and congrats on getting out in Feb, it's ridiculous. Ground is still solid here, but I'm SO close...

Man you find them RPs like I find wheat cents.
Great hunt IP,
I know the condition of the coppers are not the best but at lest you can add a new one to you list.

Military buttons in Feb...dang right!.. just getting me pumped to take a day off this week if the weather hold out...great job buddy..

There was a sign up at the field saying all Charles II half Crowns were out of stock, so had to take the copper instead. (and they just threw in the RP, as usual)

Nice copper! I like the horse button. General I know but love the ones with animals.

Not bad at all for a February hunt up there:icon_thumright: who woulda thought:icon_scratch:

I didn't know there was an Irish Charles II halfpenny...learn something new every day!!

Considering what we had this time last year it feels like a miracle just to think about digging let alone getting out there! And you dug some nice stuff at that!
