Hey all,
pulled this Cuff Link from a site that has given up a hand full of late 19th century items including some CW bullets and buttons. I was hoping someone who knows something about cuff links might be able to help identify this. the front reads "Royal" and has no back marks.

Thanks in advance!!

I'm thinking this type would be more from the last decade of the 19th and made this way well into the 1st quarter of the 20th century. I'm thinking a CW era cufflink would be more a linked button type such as the one on a TN post. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/relic-hunting/449205-need-help-dating-cufflinks.html This double button types were made from the 18th century in to the early 20th century I believe? Yours is machine made which make it from the machine age (post CW to the early 20th century) imo.

Thanks for the confirmation on the date range. I wasn't able to find any info on the "Royal" mark but it likely isn't a significant item anyway. Good to know about the "Bean Back" thing Jon! I have found a few like this in the past so helps date a few other sites as well....if I can only remember where they are !!

Cheers,

Sounds like you back on some good dirt, February is the 1 year anniversary of the famed watermelon patch so hopefully we find the next one soon
