All river cobbles. Did you know in the early days they use to make homes out of them? Back before brick was made. There is a small home near me still up made out of river cobble. They used it in the civil war. I know the owner but he doesnt want a pic taken of it, I asked if I could and he said no. I respected him and didnt take one. He has a lot of land and wont let anyone on it (even me).

Maybe that was there before my moms house was built? Cobblestone home, I mean. Neat info!! :)

The 7th picture shows a piece of quartz on the bottom left that looks like it has a test flake taken off to me

Means native americans struck it to see if it was useable for tool making, and what the rock looked like on the inside

But I thought that type of rock was what was used for points, etc?

Lets all remember that almost 90% of what we find is or has a quartz base to it.. while colors and veritys vary.. most rocks will have quartz within them.. and the outer shell is that which has been worn to some degree over time.. Weathered river rocks tend to appear the same.. Glad you cracked one open.. cause the pure stones was inside.
