That black stuff is of a gummy consistency. Diameter is 1.64 inches. Found on a colonial era farmhouse property near the mason-dixon line. Thanks!

Wish I could help on the ID. I searched for about 10 minutes. Got nothing. Someone will probably recognize it.

It looks like it's been hammered on and with the rubber between the 3 knobs I'm going to guess it is some kind of door stop or part of a cushioning/suspension system. Maybe from an Amish buggy? Something for the springs to ride on maybe?

As it came whirling off the swinging broken hammer it resembled a flying propeller doohickey.
