First off.....sorry I have not been on the site in a LLLLLLOOOONNNNGGGGG while. Last year was just not a good year for me for personal reasons. I do hope this year fairs out better.

On that note my detecting season seems to be going pretty good. I am late but I went for my first detecting session on Friday to my atv trails just for poops and chuckles...and it is in walking distance from home. Anyway my first signal on a path i have detected many times and has a bunch of iron on it I did manage to hear a somewhat good signal, good enough for me to dig and came out with a 3 ringer bullet that is flattened. I do not know what time period they used these bullets and if they were used in regular hunting rifles or not but since I did find 4 eagle buttons at this site, maybe it was from a veteran of the CW.

I also came back with a couple of what is its and a childs thimble. Unfortunately I did not take any pics but can and will post.

The main thing I wanted to ask was I went out again on Saturday with my son and came up with what I thought first was a pocket watch part but now I realize is actually a round harmonica reed. I believe that is what it is anyway. It broke on retrieval but it is all there. Can anyone post a pic or pics of round harmonica reeds so that I may verify that is what I have. I haven't had much luck with pics on google.

Thanks

Funkman

Re: round harmonica reeds?

that was what a co-worker of mine thought when he saw it so you might have it Creskol. It looks like it only has 5 or 6 slots that the tune comes out of. Kinda like what the harmonica reeds look like with their slots and the thin metal bar that produces the tune. This one those slots do not go all the way around but maybe 1/2 to 2/3 of the way around.

Thanks
