Weight is 7.25 lbs. Diameter 4.9 inches, height 1.6 inches, hole in center 1.4 inches. Found at a location with civil war and farm history. What is it?

Maybe a wheel hub from a small wagon or carriage? Just a guess based on size, shape, metal and hole.

Have you tried cleaning the outside diameter , checking to see if its a v belt pulley.? dos both sides look the same, if one side is flat it could be a saw mandrel collar. just my best guesses.

cleaned it more and got more pictures. one side has a swirl marking the other has a circular mark. the side with the circular mark is basically flat. the other side with the swirl mark has a bit of curvature. the outside edge is more flat than concave with a bulge toward the side with the swirl marking.

Looks like a lamp base. It would have been heavy to prevent tipping.
