Rough Diamond

Judging by the shape of the formation, it is not a diamond, but a crystal quartz. I can see that the gem is like a rod, and the top of the gem is like a multiple sided pyramid, which quickly indicates crystal quartz

Also, anything harder than glass can score glass, and Crystal Quartz has a hardness of around 8, and most glasses are lower than that.

Very odd... what's that on the bottom? This looks like a pin fire bullet someone shoved quartz into.
