Hello, I’m pretty sure I’m looking at damage but with how much I still have to learn I’d like to confirm this by some of you much more qualified collectors on this board. Thank you for any info you can offer ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1514936032.809401.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1514936045.795947.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1514936053.916550.jpg

damaged after leaving the mint. Like skaba said, probably from a clothes dryer or something that caused excessive tumbling wear

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help and knowledge, eventually I won’t have to ask these obvious questions and will only be posting about the real curveball finds. 🤙

The question I always ask when considering if I have found an error is this: How could this have happened in the course of the coin being manufactured? Once you learn the manufacturing process, from metallurgy to distribution, and everything between, then the errors come much easier.

Almost too late for more coffee.

I’m trying to work on understanding that a bit better, I think my eye is progressively getting better the more I see, but it really great having a resource like this forum to refer to while going thru the learning curve. Thanks
