The wife and I ripped out an old dog fence that has been an eyesore on our property for a few years. This metal fence always kept me from being able to swing real close while detecting. Today, with fence removed, I took the etrac out and scored on a great piece of history I think!
1904 Roosevelt Fairbanks, Washington fob! There are initials on the top piece as well, but I can't make them out yet.

Neat find! Maybe CC initials for Chicago Coliseum, where the 1904 Republican Convention was held

Cool find Den!!

Here's a pic of one I found that sold on an auction site that sold for $19.99

I wish we could find more memorabilia like that!!

SWEET! Is there any way to "restore" this? My grandfather in law is a HUGE Roosevelt fan and I'd love to give this to him to hang next to his Winchester T. Roosevelt commemorative 30/30 that I bought him last year for Christmas.

Den...maybe you should post it in the cleaning forum, I bet someone has an idea. Ask Unc Jeff if electrolysis will help, I never cleaned anything like that.

Dave

don't know if I'd clean it.
the Patina is what seperates it
from something new

I just found one like it on my property. It only has Roosevelt 1904 Fairbanks. No "Washington".
