ROMAN SPINDLE WHORL?

I believe this is a Roman spindle whorl. Just can't figure out if it's stone, pottery or degrading bone. It is 37.5mm in diameter and 5 mm thick. The center hole is 5.5mm wide. What do you guys think?

Where did you get/find it? Why do you think Roman? Native Americans and colonist used them also.

Most likely but you can't rule out Saxon.
