Awesome.

I like those ancient Silvers.

:hello:

Larger one looks like Severus Alexander, (radiate head right) and it looks larger than a Denarius possibly AR Antoninianus. The Green bits would suggest a Bronze core...(plated)...Two nice finds :thumbsup:

Dad's IDs;

Antoninus Pius Denarius. 159 AD. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG P P, laureate head right / AED DIVI AVG REST COS IIII, temple of eight columns with standing statues before the two outer columns, containing seated statues of Divus Augustus & Diva Livia

Volusian AR Antoninanus.AD251-253 IMP CAE C VIB VOLVSIANO AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right / CONCORDIA AVGG, Concordia seated left with patera and double cornucopiae. Sear5 9743.

Never had a Volusian :o :headbang: :hello2:

Jep, broken ones count too! The Antonianus has a nice size...Did it has a bronze core? Soething to see at the edge?

Many thanks for your id of the Antoninianus, it makes it my first Volusian. The green seems to be on the surface rather than having a bronze core, but l don't want to clean it for fear of harming it any more.

It's were the bronze is leaching from the core, from tiny pitholes on the surface :icon_thumleft:
