We weren't really planning on returning to this site, as there was only a small outer edge left to do. However, it seemed our best option right now. After 2.5 hours Dad & I finished the site. Nothing of much interest, just 3 scrappies.

My coil was playing up(wire break) & it packed in after we moved sites; to a 'hunted out' Roman Site. Without the spare coil:BangHead: I was left to dig Cru'Dad's holes & keep my eyes on the ground. I dig pick-up a piece of a Roman Roof Tile.

Dad got:
1st C AD Langton Down Brooch (Roman)
Roman Bronze Bead
1 OK Roman Coin
Medieval Cauldron Leg

You were out! Everything else is a bonus! Like these roof tiles. When i got bigger ones i take them home every time. Someday i'll get a stamped one or one with a cat/dog paw....

Had a similar day myself :) nice work crusader

Man I tell ya what you always amaze me with the things you find over there.thanks for sharing.

Some nice fines, always good to know there is nothing left on the field,at least for the first run of it!
Congrats on the OK roman

There is probably a few things left. This was our 5th time over the same ground, so the GPS scatter is well developed. This final area was right on the edge where not many coins were mapped.
At this point we have cleared nearly every nail & every tiny piece of lead.
We may return in 2-3 years or if its deep ploughed (which rarely happens nowadays).

The second site was never has heavily concentrated, but its pretty much done. Thats why the 3 things we got were welcome.

Too bad about your detector. I'm sure being the designated digger was not much fun. You guys did mange to scrounge out a few nice ones, though.

It was fun enough, we are a team. If Dad is catching me up on the outside of the run, I often leave him to dig up my signals or dig it out & let him find, whilst I keep the area search moving. Both of us stopping is wasted time.

It gave me more of a chance to spot an eyes only.
