It was time to return to the site that had been Mag'ed. Today we were going other the same plots with the Res. I turned up to help but there was plenty of volunteers (1 travelling a fair distance!) so I detected instead. They got loads done today & Cru'Dad will help finish off the job tomorrow. Can't wait to see the results.

Land-Mag got us permission to try the edge of the next field, & I added 3 more scrappies to our plots.
I then did an area I hadn't done but doesn't normally turn up many coins. This time I did OK, finishing the 5 hour hunt with 10 scrappies. (Solo hunt)

10 Scrappies
Roman Hob-Nail
Bits...
& after years of gridding my first Lead Token from this field, some what of a freak.

I think the lead token may have a bulls head or the other way it looks like a tulip.:icon_scratch:

You know Cru, your posts are excellent, educational and almost always impressive.
Every time I see you post coins found, it reminds me when I first read your profile and saw this.

I crack up every time I see coins you've found. Thanks for the informative posts.

This was Cru'Dad's finds from the Monday hunt after I had done this post.

He got a Mystery Celtic/Roman object. Looks it it maybe early Roman Military, but still looking for an ID.

It's too bad you can't add that info to the actual post Cru. That's pretty wild. Keep us updated

Well Jeff said he would do it for me in future but that seems to give him a larger workload - crazy!

As far as I can tell this is an unrecorded type of late Iron Age/early Roman Single Loop Horse Strap Junction.
