Hi All,
Do any of you 'Roman' experts recognize this portrait?

Coin.jpg

This was found not too far away from the Barbarous Radiate hoard spot - (3rd Century). Have looked at all the Empresses I can find in this period but haven't seen one yet the same as this one.
Any help most appreciated, thanks x

cool find
Got over 3000 of the little blighters! but this one was quite a way from the main site and the only one (to date) with this head! Could be from a different period. All that hair makes me think Empress or Princess, but I could be wrong!

Thanks Crusader! Knew you'd be the one to crack it :notworthy:
There's me thinking it was lots of long-flowing 'female' hair when in fact it was his 'burial shroud'....
Found another photo off the web:

Thanks again.

Thanks again.

It was the shroud that gave it away for me, as I brought the one pictured over 15 years ago. The couple (I think, maybe 1) we have found are worse off than yours.
