Himself found this little Roman yesterday and is struggling to id.. he thinks it might be…
…. a silver radiate with an Emperor’s wife on the obverse and Providentia on the reverse….but thats as far as he can get…Thank you xx

There are sure a lot of different types of Roman coinage-no wonder one scratches the noodle wondering.

I don't have time to track down a full attribution but I'll throw you in the right direction;
Its denomination is a 'Billion Antoninianus' (we count these in our Roman Silver count, as they just about have enough silver compared to silver washed ones that we don't)
It is Solonia;
