Nice coin!! Got to be more! Keep digging. ;)

thanks for all your responses ,

this coin has been hammered in the early first century , don't know the value at all but no matter 'cause i DO NOT intend to sell it anyway !!
not so common in this condition i think . i've found lots a roman coins indeed but most of the time in a poor condition , that's the problem with bronze coins .i've got lots of medieval artifacts too ...not surprising given i have a passion for medieval times but honestly i would say every coin has its own history even those less than 200 years old and that's what makes this hobby so interesting i think .

thanks for reading me
Laurent

Nice lookiing coin. I would love to be over there. Those old roman coins are really neat. Is the gold and silver coins tough to find over there. I'd be searching the whole country.

yeah ...gold coins are extremely rares ...even modern gold coins ( napoleons) ...so imagine a roman gold coin ...problably the kind of stuff you may only find once in a lifetime. generally roman gold-silver coins are far tougher to find than bronze coins . personally i got to say i'm a lucky man 'cause i found both gold and silver coins after only 10 years of hunting.

Laurent, Thats a great coin! Question, do you know many people in your area that detect? Is it a very popular hobby? Again nice coin and it will be interesting to see what else you find on your next trip. Tsgman

I don't know anyone that detect in my aera ..so much the better ! but there are afew associations and also some websites where we can ID ours finds . that's cool

Hey Laurent,

What a great coin. Don't you just love the romans?

Where are you from? and what other roman stuff have you found?

i'm in the southern France a few miles away from Toulouse .that's true i love roman coins maybe because it brings you back to the very beginning of our history .really i love touching those coins and then thinking about the guy that lost it 2000 years ago ...what was he doing ? ?.... where was he going ? ?....

but i have a passion for history and every period interests me from the bronze-age to nowadays , i've got lots of medieval coins , arrowheads ,rings , knifes blades, seal matrices...that would be hard to describe everything i found since i began detecting but i 'll send some pics later
Laurent

Very nice condition! Finding any Celtic coins or relics? HH, Mike
