Nice coin. Did it come out of the ground that nice or did you have to scrub it a bit? That is a long time for a coin to sit in the ground.

Keep it up

That is totally awesome, I thought my 1800's coins were old, but dang it... I'd need a calculater to figure the age of that one... ;D

I'd say about the same odds of me finding one here in Indy,,, very, very, small...
We'd probably have a better shot at the lottery... ;D

I did not even touch it with cleaning stuff, came out that clean.
Romans made their coins of the best silver you can get, that's why is so clean.

Pozdrawiam Matejko

I just pulled a Large Cent out this morning, Roughly 200 years old & no Details at all.

Of course, It's only Copper. But ???

Don't worry be happy, Jeff !! ;D

I've got a few cooper coins that look like hell, too. :D
Take a look, some of them are Germans coins, but most of them are from Russia.

Pozdrawiam Matejko ;D

Hi everybody !

Yesterday I found Roman coin of Trajan (Marcus Ulpius Trajanus , Rome emperor 98-117)
For now, it's oldest coin I found.
1888 years old, looks good for it's age. Doesn't it?

Pozdrawiam? Matejko
:) Nice-here you are finding 1888 year old coins and I can't even find one as old as the year 1888! ;) -keep it up!nice find/s-diggummup

Wow Matejko. When I find a King George from the 1700's I think I have really found something old. Can't compare with realizing that the last one to touch your coin was a Roman. My brother and I are planning a trip to England next year to detect. Hope we can come up with some half that nice. Congrats...Lance

comfy you should head up to scotland we hosted the picts and people and weve got perfect loamy soil to dig (as soon as youve went up to inverness :) )

Congrats Matejko on your nice silver ! And to think that the oldest coin I've found is a 1901 ! Thanks for sharing the pics with us. Good Luck with your future hunts !

It must be great to be in areas that are so very old culturally.
The states are relatively new in comparison.
Great find man!
Someday I hope to MD in Europe too.
H.H.

Eddie
