Firstly, thanks again to Land-Mag for the lift & it was really great to get in amounst it again. They have done a deep plough on 4 of our Roman Sites, we just don't know where to start. When I say deep, I mean 15 inches on the Iron Age/Roman Site in picture 6 (only spent an hour on it!) There is pottery shards everywhere, & I spent 4 hours 15 minutes on the field we named 'Brooch Field'.
Dad joined me for the last couple of hours & pulled off what will surely become his best 'Eyes Only' find (I spotted a roman coin on top) - Celtic Bronze Unit (I can't find it in the books, looks rare, I will keep researching!) He spotted it in a lump of clay whilst he had stopped next to me trying to find an iffy signal.
I pictured a few of the Roman Iron Nails we clear.
Total for the day:
26 Roman Bronze Coin
1 Silver (debased) Roman Coin - Solonia
Bent up Roman Fantail Brooch
Roman Pin (Large)
Part of a Iron Age/Roman Luna Mount (with a smaller piece I found in the same area 2 years ago)
