After stopping detecting on our new land due the crop growing too high, we returned to the Roman Bath House Site on Friday & today with Cru'Dad. Also, Land-Mag did just over 2 hours with me yesterday.(Thanks Land-Mag for the lift & it was the sweetest Valentines Date I've ever had :laughing7: ) After a total of 13 hours gridding for me & 10 hours 45 minutes for Cru'dad we have pretty much covered 70% of the whole field & 90% of the scattered coin/artefact area.

31 Roman Bronze Coins (Fri & Sun)
16 Roman Bronze Coins (Found today)
Iron Roman Knife (broken)
Iron Hob Nail (Roman)
Broken Roman Fibula/Brooches
My best example of a Roman Military 3-4th C Dolphin Buckle.:icon_thumright:
17th C Buckle
17th C Button
1936 Sixpence
Hammered Penny (poor condition)
2 Roman Silver:icon_thumright: Postumus & Valerian I - Takes us to 5 this year, already a quarter of our years total!
Cru'dad got all the interesting Medieval (late/post) items - Beehive Thimble, Purse Bar (type we need), & a stunning rare Elizabeth I Trade Weight (never seen this type)8-)

So awesome to be you! :)

Is that a trade weight or a nested weight? Either way a great find.

A nested trade weight, it has an official verification counterstamp. ie. its not a bullion weight, coin weight, or domestic pan weight. Used in business transactions. What do you think the difference is between trade & nested?

Here a set to encourage 'fair trade'. As a nested example, it 'may' have been a good travelling set.
