I rolled all the coins i have had stting around for 3 years, totaled 1 quarter roll, 2 dime rolls, 1 nickel roll, and 7 penny rolls...THATS FOR 3 YEARS!! thats 25.50 in 3 years! Thats like getting payed 8.50 a year :o Why can't i find money?!? lol I prolly had another .50 cents in pennies but they crumbled apart when i held em ::) Anyone else do this bad in terms of change?? Every time i go to capecod for a week of detecting and stuff i only come back with around 3 bucks, last time was good i got 5$. Hopefully this trip to the cape will bring in some more cash which i can save up for one of zeekes scoops ;)

Guess it depends on your hunting method. At the local playground I found $4.79 in about 90 minutes. Other times, when I am looking for older stuff, I have been out for 4 hour and not found any coins.

well around the beach is where i find alot of clad, but at parks and stuff i find like no coins at all. I mostly hunt in the woods though, so i find relics moer ;D

Jake, I do like your attitude and honesty! ? ;) ?I haven't bothered to count or roll any of my coin finds so far because last I knew financial institutes didn't accept rolls that small. ?lmao ?Wild guess for me . . . in 3 months I may have found about $12-$13 total. ?However . . . I have enjoyed every minute of it!

Enjoy that kayak but be careful . . . water is sneaky and doesn't care. ?It seldom gives a bad mistake a second chance.

Quick story . . . I once spent 5-6 weeks alone in Somalia, camping WAY out in the desert boonies with a few native helpers, right along the Indian Ocean. ?Many a day I would walk over to the beach and test the waters. ?It was beautiful and SO deserted for miles. ?I'm a pretty good swimmer BUT . . . each time I waded out into that water, sometimes to my waist but never further, I could feel the undercurrent pulling on my legs. ?I really wanted to swim about but . . . . fear AND good sense said, "Yep, ya just don't need to be that foolish." ?I didn't. ?Sure wanted to . . . it sure was hot!!

That sifter and kayak sound like a fun operation. ?I hope you score big on your next hunt.

Thanks hobo! Thats not a bad haul for 3 months! Yea hopefully my kayak idea works out good ::) I am hoping to find at least one piece of jewelry or an old coin :)

Jake,

you cannot really judge your success only on the amount of coins you find. It's a poor gauge by itself.

Just from reading your other post I know you really enjoy getting out there and finding some old bottles or other artifacts. It's also about the history of an item you find; the hunt can be more rewarding than the items found.

I'm more into artifacts and history now, don't think I go out more than 4-5 times a years to only coin shoot, although that is how I started out.

Keep at it and the neat stuff will come your way, and you will also have some good tales to tell.

have a good un.............

True about the artifacts! I would rather find an old relics or bottle than clad any day ;D All these coins are mostly from the beach....But i have even found old stuff there too!

Jake -- I got about 25 bucks in clad in three weeks. I would trade it all for a coin I would be proud of finding. Clad is nice but a good adventure and one whatzzit in my opinion is much better. ;) ;)
