Rolled copper thing

Does anyone have any ideas on this thing? It is wrapped around a hard unknown material and has H above 45 towards the scalloped end. It is from a site that saw War of 1812 activity. Thanks in advance.

Not real sure about it being a scabbard tip. The last pic shows the number 4 and some other markings. I have never seen a scabbard tip with writing on it. Just a thought.

Thanks for the replies, all. Sorry for the poor photos. My first thought was that it was attached to a hat to hold a plume decoration. I hadn't thought of a scabbard tip. This one has no holes for attachment and is very thin and bendable, though. Just wondering if that would be expected. The wider end has a border with only 3 scallops which probably points to a round scabbard if this decoration were to "look right". The markings have me puzzled also....
