While makin payment at bank grabbed 47 dollars in rolled change not being precise in what i wanted the teller gave me 4 rolls of quarters 10 rolls of pennies and 1 roll of nickels. Skunked on the quarters 7 outta 10 rolls of pennies were copper whole rolls , the best was a complete roll of silver nickels all pre 65 plus some war yrs . ( headed back to see if they have anymore with same wrapper ! Hooked :)

Very nice! Were they all between '42 and '45 with a mint mark on the back? If not, then they're not all silver. Nice find regardless :icon_thumright:

What he said^ pre 65 nickels are not all silver. The only silver nickels were made 42-45 and had a large mint mark above the building on the back.

Also forgot to mention that some '42's are not silver. It's easy to tell though, just look at the back for the big mint mark above Monticello.

New to the Crh game so only 42-45 are war nickels ? I was thinking anything pre 65 rookie mistake :)

Just pre 63 are like quarters , dimes and half dollars 80% silver. they are correct on the year of the nickles being silver in the certain years in the 40s. also might add that halves up till 1970 still have silver in them 40% silver

coinflation.com has all your answers. 64 and previous are 90% silver for US coinage.

canadian is the 80% fine silver coinage.

great finds. most people would go through over $1000 worth to find that.

Most of these coins look like they are of a decent coin grade. So if you plan to sell them off you can expect value over and above the metal content.

I doubt it. You can get a good MS 60+ set for not much money. Those are worn enough you're better off just getting uncirc coins on eBay, these won't have much of a premium.
