Roll hunting contest

Hi, i am doing a contest to win a free mercury dime.Heres how it works, I am sending out two half dollars that are colored the dates are 1977D, and 1985P.The percon to find one will win a free mercury dime that is in the early forties is in good shape and is mintmarked.The half dollars are going to be cashed in on Wednesday and i live in PA.Pictures below are what they look like.Ploease post a picture if you find one to make sure it is the same ones.

Fun idea! And I really like the way they're colored, but I'll be surprised if any of us ever finds them. Maybe see how it goes for a while and then if none turn up, you could color some more. Of course, now that I've said that, someone tomorrow will probably find both and get their merc.

Ill be looking. Im in PA also... maybe they will hang around a while in this state.

Im having some withdrawal this week. Last week my order bank called, and said
they were not getting an order in, so my halves wouldnt be here. GRRR. Hoping
for a change of luck - as the boxes been pretty slim lately.

I Already Found One!!!!

I can't believe how fast it got to California. There I was searching my box and bingo, it just jumped out of the roll at me. Found some other silver with it also. Let me know where to send my address for the Merc and thanks for running the contest. I hope someone finds the other.

Looks like you had the same thought I did...with a picture it's too easy to fake finding it. Just need a few markers and a Kennedy with the right date in approximately the same shape. :P

Note: Here are a few suggestions, use if you wish.

1) I would recommend describing a basic coloration (different than the one given so far) and let everyone post what they find such that only the contest holder knows all colors which were used and where.

2) I would also recommend not giving out the date, but maybe the decade in which it is in as the date is another distinguishing factor to eliminate fraud.

alkoz...good idea for a contest...here's my suggestion.....paint the obverse any color and design you want, give the date if you want...post a picture of just the obverse...on the reverse put a mark that will identify that the coin is yours and don't post it...the winner will be identified by showing the reverse with the correct markings ....just a thought...

Yup, that is a photoshoped image. Doesn't even take a marker. Like the contest, and would agree it should be done with note modification (not show reverse).

This is probably a better suggestion than mine as it is easier to identify a possibility.

OK here is your Merc, she has been a bad girl. Picked up a few bad habits along the way.

I wont give alot of detail but here are the changes: the head of eagle colored, rays on rev colored, legs on rev. colored, stars around rev colored, kenny has a colored nose.Not telling the color of the changes but that is all I will give you. Good luck
