Had to post these finds. Just yesterday I saw someones post where they had found a counterfeit Peace Dollar. Was out detecting with a friend at a construction site, digging and BS'ing about what was new on the forum. Mentioned seeing the fake dollar to him, and less than five minutes later, I pulled the half from the ground. It's a counterfeit 1893 Barber Half, in really poor condition. Got an unlisted token as well, it's a Chas. Weisensee, Good For 5 Cents, a Denver saloon from 1906. (The only type known is a 2 and 1/2 Cent. Also got the smallest whiskey bottle that I've ever seen, and I've been a bartender for over 20 years.

Hello Carl!
That's really cool, the counterfeit Barber I mean!
I'll take those things anyway I can find them.

Man, you're hot on tokens also!

Congrats!

Nice work! You get a hearty congrats on the unlisted token--and to be honest, I think the counterfeit coins you are finding are highly interesting. I haven't seen much in the way of counterfeits from the Barber and Peace Dollar days...mainly Seated counterfeits, early coppers, etc.

Oh, and nice Bennington too.

Well fakes are rarer than the real thing & often collectable. :icon_sunny:

good score, and good job picking up on another construction site would have been a real shame to see those lost forever.
