In 1996 I saw a meteorite fall, break into several peices and land in various places. I picked up 4 chunks. About 9 pounds.

Over the years I've tried to get ANYONE to look at them and guess what? NO EMAILS, NO ones interested, Instead I get told that they are slags,(except there are not smelters anywhere close)Coal cinders, Not even looking close.,Basalt, or anything that could be. so I'm about to chuck them out.
I've tried to Email people who say that this is their buisness only to have no responce.

So to me their worthless.
I'll never pick up or bother to look again.

Did you try contacting your state universities?
Those earth science profs can sometimes be a big help ;)

Yes, I was told that I could donate it to our local University but that they wouldn't buy it. Using the Department heads eyeballs, he said that it was a meteorite.

But thats as far as that got.
