At this time of year, there are few opportunities in Ontario to get out rock hounding for crystals (due to snow). There is one area which is more forgiving (Niagara Peninsula). Here is a video of a spot containing vuggy dolostone in a rock dump from the construction of a power canal. Lots of calcite, nice fluorite and other interesting minerals

 

That would keep me busy for at least one day! :tongue3:

Got a sweet spot there. When the vid first started I was thinking,"Need a saw in there.", then you showed the saw marks! Hahh! I think that would be a prime place to check out with a black light as well. I bet it would be a rainbow of colors. Very cool. Hope you get some more vid and a couple of friends with heavy hammers to break into the good stuff hiding in those stones.
