My decease father gave me one thing... a silver ring engraved Oran Africa 1942. I was a very young girl at Thomas Jefferson School and took the ring off in the bathroom to wash my hands. It was just myself and a girl named June Laws. I turned to get a paper towel to dry my hands and saw my ring gone and immediately asked, then begged her for the ring back. I am 56 years old now and not a day goes by that I don't hope to recover that ring. He asked me to take care of it and I only took it off when I washed my hands so it did not get soap in the engraving. He never knew I did not have the ring when he died, but I long to have it back. His name was William Tann and he told me a native made it special for him while he was in the navy. I am hoping this works and someone knows where the ring is now. Thanks in advance.
