Rock that rings my Garrett 350, alternately between the top silver and the 25c mark

When I saw this I thought it was coal, but it's not. It doesn't mark or leave a residue on my hands. It's black and shiny like coal though. It almost looks layered like a sedimentary rock, but doesn't seem inclined to easily split along those layers. It's only about the size of a quarter.

It might be Mica. Does it flake? Just a guess.

Check the Specific Gravity, Then you'll know for sure.

It maybe a burn/melted aluminum can. Does it draw a magnet? Breezie

It does not draw a magnet. I'll have to try the specific gravity thing but it'll be a couple of days before I have the time as I am working today and have obligations tomorrow. Thanks everyone for your input.
It doesn't flake easily and doesn't look like mica. Mica I am familiar with, as I actually have an old coal stove that uses mica for the little windows on it, and we used to buy more mica sheets from the local hardware store to clean it up each season. When they get too black you take it apart and put new little windows in the door. It's a very pretty effect when you light it.
