don't know, but I like it! Hopefully someone here can help. Where was it found?

my guess its a chalcedony, the botryoidal pocket is nice, as well as the druse, which seems indicative of some sort of quartz...would be nice to find an arrowhead made from this, are there any evidences of artifacts around? Color is always good, and this is nice color...

That looks like your standard garden variety of massive quartz. The orange (my screen shows it to be yellowish orange) is probably just iron or something similar coloring the rock. The sugary looking
crystalization is common as well.

Been away for awhile so I apologize for not responding before now..

SeebeeRon..I found it in a dried stream bed..

Eu...I'm new to this stuff..but my best guess would be hardeness: 6 -7 streak: ? Opaque

luxfaire...I picked it up while exploring some Indian shelters in the area....artifacts have been found..but
not by me...

Naturelady...your description of the rock is correct..just not as flavorful as luxfaire's.. ;D

Thanks again to all for sharing your knowledge and comments..

That is definately Quartz. I've got tons of it in the creek at my house. It gets the color from the abundance of brown jasper, sandstone, and clay around here. I'm guessing it there are similar conditions where you found your specimen.

When you mention it I've seen quartz similar to that but not to often around my area.
