Did anyone else notice the tree growing THROUGH the tire in the bottom pic? Cool.

I saw that,...but I was wondering if the tire is cut on the side you can't see... :icon_scratch: how old do you figure the tree is? the tirer looks pretty good, like it hasn't been there that long

I'd hit it. I think the tree growing in the tire might be a treasure marker. ;D

I can't tell but thought i saw 1890 in the stone on the corner of the house. Is this worth hunting?

OPUS1-
Almost any site is worth checking out. Nice pics but the tree in the tire puzzles me. Sure a shootin' there weren't no tires like that in 1890, so obviously someone has been using the place as a residence 'recently'. There are serial numbers on the tire; you could find out when it was made if it makes any difference to you to know. The walls look fairly thick, don't pass them up when you use the detector, especially around the fireplace. (it looks like one on the far side in the second picture behind the tree.) Also look for loose stones or slightly different color mortar. Depending on the age of the tire... Remember paper money in glass jars with plastic lids doesn't sound off.
Good luck.
